Job description for Trainer
Position: Trainer
Location: Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Reports to: Program cum Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Manager.
Contract Type: Fulltime

Purpose of the Role

This role focuses on equipping participants with practical skills, knowledge, and
confidence to improve livelihoods, leadership, and community participation. The
Trainer will work closely with lead trainer, programs, monitoring and Evaluation
officer, local partners, and beneficiaries to ensure impactful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Curriculum input: Contribute to the development and customization of
        training materials.
      • Community liaison: Work with government officials and local partners to
        ensure smooth program implementation.
      • Group empowerment: Support anchor women and mobilize new women &
        youth groups.
      • Training delivery: Provide high-quality training sessions following approved
        curricula.
      • Monitoring & reporting: Collect and analyze data, maintain databases, and
        prepare timely reports.
      • Volunteer management: Support volunteers in the field to ensure effective
        contribution.

Qualifications and Competencies

      • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Community
        Development, Business studies, or related field.
      • Experience: 2+ years of experience in training, facilitation, or community
        development, preferably with women and youth-focused programs.
      • Technical skills: Strong facilitation skills, knowledge of participatory training
        methods, and ability to use digital tools for learning.
      • Soft skills: Empathy, cultural sensitivity, communication skills, and ability to
        inspire and motivate diverse groups.
      • Gender sensitivity: Ability to address barriers faced by women and
        promote equality.
      • Youth engagement: Skills in motivating and involving young people in
        decision-making.
      • Leadership development: Capacity to nurture leadership qualities among
        participants.
      • Problem-solving: Creative approaches to overcome challenges in training
        delivery.
