Women Economic Empowerment

The Sote Initiative in partnership with Buzz Women – Netherlands, implement a program called Buzz Women – Tanzania, which addresses the issue of rural women economic empowerment through provision of customized entrepreneurship training program. The program has been very successful in the Netherlands, India, Giorgia and Gambia, thus, making its implementation in Tanzania have the potential to transform lives of the rural women significantly.

Furthermore, the program design is very innovative that, it does not only adopt participatory and practical learning approaches, but also covers the most pressing lessons that rural women in Tanzania need to understand in order to improve living standards of their respective families.  In order to make the program as convenient as possible, the program is also called “school on wheel” whereby the trainers move from one village to the other, in order to meet the women groups at their door-steps, instead of making them travel long distances to acquire the knowledge and skills.
