The Sote Initiative partners with Buzz Women Global to deliver a program called Buzz Women, which is a women empowerment intervention that has been implemented over the past 11 years in various countries, including India, Georgia and Gambia. The program was introduced in Tanzania and Ukraine (through Georgia) in the year 2023.
The Buzz Women program is a very unique and innovative program, whose USP is our doorstep training. We go to the last mile, to the hamlets and the villages which are not reached by other organisations. Our delivery model gives the advantage of doorstep accessibility to the women and provides them flexibility.

- Self-Help Group/Shakti Training
Training bus travels to villages with trainers to set up training in open area at the hamlet level.
Training Outcomes: Women plan and manage their finance better; increase in women’s equity in household financial decision making with regard; increase in income and savings; increased ability to identify goals and act on them. - Anchor Women Training
Anchor women cohort of 10-12 come together at village level.
Covered Topics: self-awareness, communication for influencing, community and collaboration and conflict resolution.
Training Outcomes: Anchor women become community leaders; building agency – women believe that their actions have an impact in their life; anchor women build courage and confidence to solve personal and community problems.
- Beehives: Women trained under self-shakti meet at village level once or twice a month under the leadership and facilitation of the anchor women.
Covered Topics: Peer consulting, financial management, self-awareness, communication for influencing, community and collaboration and conflict resolution.
Training Outcomes: Building agency – women believe that their actions have an impact on their life; women find solutions through self-initiative and women use the power of collective to solve community problems.
